Common Questions

Building a home is one of the biggest decisions you'll make, and it comes with a lot of questions. Whether you're just exploring a new home with us or already building, we want you to feel confident every step of the way. Here are answers to the questions we hear most. How

Building from the ground up takes up to 9 months from contract to closing:

  • 1–2 months for drafting and permitting
  • 1 month for selections (finishes, fixtures, and finalizing the details that make the home yours)
  • 6 months for construction

Actual timing can shift based on selections, change orders, and permitting — some steps move faster or slower depending on decisions made along the way and how quickly permits come through. This timeline plays out over several meetings along the way, so you're never left wondering where things stand. We set realistic expectations from day one and keep you updated at each stage — from initial drafting through your final walkthrough.

Yes. We're a semi-custom builder, which means our floor plans are a starting point, not a fixed menu. Buyers regularly adjust layouts to fit how they actually live — moving a wall, adding a bonus room, reworking a kitchen, or reconfiguring the garage. No two homes we build end up exactly alike.

We work through these changes with you in person, walking through options during your design meetings so you can see how each change affects the plan, the timeline, and the budget before anything's finalized.

Step 2: Customize your floor plan
Work with our design team to adjust the layout to fit how you actually live — this is where you start to personalize your new home.

Step 3: Sign your purchase agreement
Now the real fun begins!

Step 4: Drafting and permitting
We finalize plans and secure permits simultaneously with step 5.

Step 5: Choose your selections
Pick your finishes, fixtures, and the details that make the home yours.

Step 6: Groundbreaking
Construction begins on your home.

Step 7: Construction
This is the longest step — about 6 months of building. We'll send updates along the way, along with a few meetings on site during the process.

Step 8: Final walkthrough and closing

Step 9: 1-year limited warranty
We back your new home with a limited 1-year warranty, so you're covered after move-in if anything needs attention.

Yes! We welcome site visits, but they need to be scheduled in advance — either as part of your planned meetings or, if you'd like to stop by outside of those, just get approval first. Some visits can be arranged after hours or on weekends to fit your schedule. This helps us keep the job site safe and on track while still giving you the chance to see your home come together.
